Back in late June we reported on the upcoming 10-week tour adventure rider and actor Charley Boorman was preparing to go on, aboard the new BMW R1200GS, yes, the liquid-cooled one. Well, time has indeed been ticking away and Charley's back.
Audience around the world will be able to share this journey, as the Extreme Frontiers: USA, Boorman's third stage in his latest travel series will be broadcast later this year.
Boorman was joined in his travels by his producer and fellow adventurer Russ Malkin. Their trip span across the entire North American continent, from one ocean to the other and from Anchorage to the Mexico border.
More than 5,000 miles-long (8,000 km), the Extreme Frontiers: USA experience comprised pretty much all sorts of terrains an adventure rider and his bike could ever expect to run into: tarmac, desert, gravel and dirt, deserts, floods, ice and mud, with the new R1200GS faultlessly covering mile after mile.
On the last few miles before reaching the Venice Beach in LA, the end of the adventure, Boorman and Malkin have also been joined by more than 100 local bikers, escorting them to the final stop of the journey.
