Buying a vehicle, especially one that's built to go fast on a budget, in its first production year does bring the usual warranty, but it also requires owners to keep an open mind for the obvious early start issues that might arise.
Fortunately, the owner of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in the image below did tick the positive mentality box, which helped him get through about two months of issues.
After having visited two Dodge dealers (7 trips were made) for various issues, an engine failure sealed the deal for the man's Sublime Green 707-pony machine, as the owner writes on the Hellcat.org forums.
We're glad to report Dodge, together with the owner's dealer, have covered this one by the book, sending the guy a replacement car.
Sure, the owner did have to give up on the eye candy hue, since Sublime Green is no longer available, but he did end up with a brand spanking new 2016 Challenger Hellcat - he had only managed to cover under 4,000 miles with his first vehicle.
"Just wanted to let everyone on this site know that Dodge does stand behind these cars. I know that some of the dealers are great, some of them not so great and some of them should be out of business but Dodge as a whole, at least in my case, has been very responsive and fair," the man said.
For the record, the story unfolded with the help of Rocky Top Dodge in Sevier County, TN.
And since the Hellcat owner's 10-year-old daughter, who is crazy about cars, is cool with the Granite Crystal finish on the fresh muscle car, we are dealing with a happy man here.
While the guy had picked up his 2015MY car on September 30 last year, his 2016 Challenger, which he describes as having superior paint quality, should land on his driveway in a few days' time.
