Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept Makes for an Offroading Muscle Car

From The Dukes of Hazard to Vanishing Point, basically every muscle car movie we can remember comes to prove that these retro machines are not shy when it comes to a stint outside the confinements of the asphalt. Modern-day muscle cars have lost some of the ground clearance, but they’re still not fragile when it come to this.

Still, there’s one designer that would like too see our new-age muscle metals be just as capable off the road as they are on it. Yes, something that would surpass Mad Max’s Interceptor (a modded Aussie Ford Falcon) in terms of rugged terrain driving.

Meet the Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept, a project for a heavily modified Mopar car that would allow you to throw the navigation out the window and plough right though the terrain.

This is the creation of designer Joey Ruiter, who aims to keep things as close to reality as possible, as he dreams of a production reality, as Autoblog writes.

Sure, we’ve heard about various boddies married with pickup truck frames, but this is no such thing. Oh no. What we have here is a geniuine Challenger, which has been sent to offroading school. The custom bits and pieces that resulted from this process are split in two categories. The first tagets the tech side of the car, while the latter refers to its body modifications.

To battle it out with a Jeep, the Challenger would need the following pieces of hardware:

• Front long travel arms
• Rear trailing arm with links
• Body armor with rock sliders
• Fender flares
• Front skid plate
• Integrated lower light bar
• A/T logo badge (yes, we know, not quite fitting here)

As for the body modifications, here is the list of goodies:

• Wheel well trimming
• Inner fender wall construction
• Exhaust tuck and reposition
• Spare tire truck mount
• Graphic twin striping
• Off-road tool storage and details
• Safety equipment

As for what’s under the hood, while “Hellcat” is the best rhyme for such a verse, the designer talks about V6 power, since, like we said, he wants things to be possible and drivable.

The best part of the story is that Ruiter is working on a package that would apply the A/T treatment to Challengers, Mustangs and Camaros alike. Wicked, let’s hope we hear from him again.
