What do you get when you put a chopper, a scooter, CVT transmission and some Chinese engineering in the same pot and cook them all together? "CFMOTO Cruz" is the result and it's a rather controversial one.
We took many a good look at the Cruz and still are undecided whether we like it or not. The Cruz (Spanish for "Cross") is powered by a 250cc-class 4-stroke single with a Ducati EFI system, and CFMOTO claim it produces 13.6 HP @ 6600 rpm.

The fun thing is that the transmission is automatic (CVT), so there's scooter-like operation in the game, too. We totally dig the compact design and the covered sides of the CFMOTO Cruz, making the bike look very modern-day and even with a bit of “tomorrow”. We're pretty sure chopper enthusiasts will deem it utterly unworthy of any sort of praise, and the purists will claim it's blasphemous, but that's it: we love this idea.

CFMOTO Cruze comes with brake discs and a very generous 17-liter gas tank (4.5 gal) which should give it a pretty awesome range. Cast aluminium wheels are standard, but we were not expecting to see a weatherproof MP3 player and radio combo with USB connectivity! The placement of the speakers is as stupid as it gets, but you can always get a new set.

Oh, and yes: panniers and the top case are as cool as they get! Now, has anyone ridden such a bike?
