The Caterham and Alpine co-developed sportscar is due to be launched in 2016, Autocar has revealed today, adding that the vehicle’s final design has been agreed and and signed off.
The new two-seat sportscar will become available as standalone Caterham and Alpine models, the latter to be used to relaunch the Renault-owned French brand. Internally known as Caterham C120, the British version will be arrive with 250 bhp under the bonnet and will receive new versions with different power ratings after the first model is launched.
Caterham aims to sell no less than 3,000 units of its 1,100 kg sportscar each year, which will enable the company to increase annual sales by a whooping 500 percent. If you ask us, Caterham is way too anxious about this, but we’ll have to wait some more info on the vehicle, as well as pricing details.
