Two-time world champion Casey Stoner will be testing Honda's 2014 RC123V prototype in August at Motegi in Japan, MCN reports.

Rather freshly-retired from MotoGP last year at Valencia, Stoner is said to partake in other 3 tests scheduled for the summer at Honda's own Twin Ring at Motegi. Casey Stoner will also test the production racer Honda plans to offer to non-MSMA teams for the 2014 season.

Cristian Gabbarini, Stoner's former crew chief and now a key player in Repsol Honda's tech ranks has also prepared to meet the Australian and paddock whispers say that the new RC213V will have the exact same setup like the machine he rode last year on the same track, as a base comparison between the old and new rides.

Though rumors have it that both Honda and Ducati would like to sign Stoner again, the former expressly said that he will not make wildcard appearances in the Phillip Island or Motegi races. The MotoGP has just begun its summer break and we know things are brewing in all camps, so we're not yet ready to say yay or nay on any of the speculations.
