We know there is a huge crowd who is still hoping to see MotoGP Legend and two-time world champion Casey Stoner back aboard a premier class machine. How well-founded such hopes are it’s hard to say, and Stoner himself is the only one who knows, but you know him: he will definitely keep things to himself, and even if he would return to two-wheeled racing, we’re positive the world will only find out in the very last moment.
What we do know however, is that Casey Stoner has renewed his liaisons with the house of Tokyo and will be aboard Honda MotoGP machinery as a test rider. As much as Stoner hates publicity, we are thankful that he agreed to share some private footage from the recent test at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia. The video almost looks like a spy one, as it was recorded by his wife Adriana. Even though there’s not much to it, we are positive that seeing Stoner dragging knees on a MotoGP circuit once more will bring joy (and again - hope) in the hearts of his fans.

Testing was good, but it looks like times will not be made public

The three days of test have not been all sun and joy, as rain fell over Sepang, but without hampering the sessions the way inclement weather destroyed so many tests at Motegi in Japan last year. One of the tweets Stoner posted from Sepang mentioned that the test sessions were rather productive in spite of the rain. “We had a good first day of testing, even though I could not do as many laps as I wanted to. Nevertheless, we have collected data properly,” Stoner said.

Official MotoGP tests will start next week at Sepang and except Ducati, who is still working on the Desmosedici GP15, all the manufacturers will bring their latest machines to the track. It will be the first confrontation of the year, if a technical one and not a race, but it will provide us with quite a lot of info, confirming or invalidating all our suppositions to date.

It looks like Honda will not post Casey Stoner’s lap times at Sepang, so we must rely on whatever spy info we can get. Anyway, with MotoGP back in action next week, there will be plenty to talk about.
