Retired from racing at the end of the 2012 season, Stoner has remained involved with Honda as a test rider and helped the manufacturer develop both the RC213V prototype and the RCV1000R production racer.

Despite many rumors of Casey Stoner returning to MotoGP, both him and Honda deny that such a move will be made. Even more so, no wildcard appearances of Stoner's have been confirmed, in spite of some rumors claiming he would do so at Phillip Island this year.

Stoner is also the most recent addition to the MotoGP Legends Hall of Fame, and he took part in a lap of honor at Phillip Island alongside other two Australian legends, Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan.

Motoblog
however reports that Stoners will mos likely not be present at the special Bridgestone tire test at Phillip Island later this winter.
