With those 6 racing spots up for grabs, there are a number of drivers – be them current F1 test drivers, retirees or F1 wannabes – linked with a move to F1 next season. As far as Manor Grand Prix is concerned, John Booth's team is the only outfit that hasn't said a word about their plans for the 2010 season.
They didn't say they're looking for an experienced Vs. promising drivers' lineup and haven't revealed a single driver they are in contact with for the 2010 campaign. However, following allegations that British businessman Duncan Chilton is about to purchase a part of the team in due time, the first “suggestions” regarding the lineup have emerged.
It seems Chilton's son, 18-year old Max, who is currently racing in the British F3 Championship for Carlin Motorsport, might make his F1 debut next season. He would therefore follow the path of another British F3 graduate, Jaime Alguersuari, who will this weekend make his first F1 start in career. Chilton is currently 6th overall in the British series and hasn't had any F1 experiences in the past whatsoever.
Some other likely candidates for the Manor job are Irish driver Adam Carroll, who managed to bring his country its first A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport trophy last season. Apart from test driving for Honda in the past, he also competed in the DTM series (2007) and GP2 Series (2005 thru 2007).
Carroll will presumably come at Manor joined by former team manager at A1 Team Ireland, Dave O'Neill. The news is yet to be confirmed by Booth, however.
