Carlsson Pushes Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 to 650 HP

There really aren't that many 6x6 versions of the G63 AMG in the world, which means all of them are kind of treated like they're special. Brabus made a version called the B63S-700 6x6 with more power, Mansory did one as well and Texas Armoring turned it into a tank. Now comes the turn of Carlsson to show us what they can do.

The 6x6 they received has been left unaltered from a cosmetic point of view, which is great. Instead, the specialist tuners worked their magic under that massive bonnet, where more power laid dorment. From the existing 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8, they were able to extract 650 PS and 900 Nm of torque - an increase of 106 PS and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft).

The power kit was created at their headquarters in Merzig, where engineers reworked the existing CK63 Performance Kit to suit the needs of a 3.85-ton, 3-axle machine.

It's really not mind-blowing stuff, though, considering the Mansory version has 840 PS and gets a carbon fiber exterior makeover. But perhaps this isn't what the customer wanted. The interior has been altered with bespoke touches including leather and Alcantara upholstery as well as wood or carbon fiber trim. It's a sublet combination of brown and beige, lifted by red stitching and carbon black to give it a modern look.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
