Carlex Design Creates Stunning BMW 4 Series Out of Leather

Carlex Design has set itself apart from most of the European tuning companies a while ago when they started making really unique interiors out of the best materials around, a couple of years ago.

Over time, we saw some of the best jobs ever to be pulled by a tuner from Poland, and we were stunned. The Steampunk MINI and the Painterworks model were both wearing the Carlex Design signet, being the creation of the brilliant guys from Bielsko-BiaBa.

Now, we’re taking a look at their latest BMW creation, a special 4 Series Coupe that was put through their usual treatment. The car’s interior is the one that got most of the attention.

Looking for a bright contrast and to emphasize some of its features, all surfaces were covered in natural, plain, black leather, something you rarely get to see these days, when manufacturers are looking to cut back on costs and start using all sorts of ‘leather replacements’ that just don’t do the trick.

After that came red stitching all around and red dashboard trim highlights that really stand out. The same motif can be found on the steering wheel and the door panels, while carbon fibre inserts were applied to the steering wheel, handbrake and seats, all around.

The end result is absolutely breathtaking and we could very well see a rivalry starting here between the Polish company and the Bulgarians from Vilner that are also experts in using leather in the most interesting and creative ways. Which one do you like more?
