Carl Fogarty Gets a Ducati Hypermotard S for Personal Use

Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty, the four-times World Superbike champion, has made his choice for the road, and recently picked up a Ducati Hypermotard 1100 S from a Ducati dealership in Manchester. We would have been expecting something a bit sportier, but apparently this fits Fogarty’s riding style better.

Known as an aggressive rider, Foggy began competing for Ducati’s factory team in 1993, and that is when he achieved his greatest success, which could explain why is he so keen on the Italian brand. He won the WSB title in 1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999, and was forced to retire in 2000 after a racing incident which left him with a serious shoulder injury.

The Hypermotard 1100S has an air cooled, four stroke, 90 degrees, L-twin cylinder, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valve per cylinder engine with a displacement of 1078cc. It can develop 100 horsepower with only 175 kg of dry weight.

“It was fantastic to hand over the Hypermotard to Carl who is such a Ducati legend and it was great to see how excited he was to get his new bike. He was also very impressed with the new store,” said salesman Ian Broscombe who handed over the Hypermotard to Fogarty.

“I’m really looking forward to putting some miles on this bike it looks fantastic and is such fun to ride, I have already started scouring the accessory catalogue for some bits for it. The new store looks fantastic as well, just what Manchester needs," said Carl Fogarty, who couldn’t wait to get on the bike.
