One month after introducing the Mercedes-Benz Viano V1, which can be easily referred to as the most luxurious van in the world, UK’s Carisma Auto Design has unveiled a new conversion that basically turns the utilitarian Land Rover Defender into a Rolls-Royce off-roader.
Also a part of their “discreet vehicle transportation” program, the bespoke Defender sports the same rugged look on the outside, but comes with a completely redesigned interior which places it atop the aftermarket luxury off-road segment.
Dubbed “the most luxurious land rover defender by far”, the SUV was enhanced using high quality leather, a wide range of hand-built features and range-topping audio systems and electronics. But most importantly, the vehicle’s interior is 100 percent customizable and can be fitted with features such as a bespoke wood-crafted gun cabinet with cut-glass crystal champagne flutes and tumblers complete with separate refrigeration facilities. And if the customer is concerned with his own safety, the Defender can also be ordered as an armored vehicle, just like the Viano.
“One day a client came to me wanting a vehicle that had all of the capabilities of the Defender but with an interior ambience of a Range Rover with the feeling of pure exclusivity of a Rolls-Royce, the Carisma Auto Design conversion of the Defender was born,” explains Clive Drake, sales and marketing director of Carisma Auto Design.
