The bike gear-maniacs at WebBikeWorld tipped us about Cardo's imminent intercom family expansion with the Scala Rider Q1 and Scala Rider Q3 units.

Cardo plans to introduce these two new units to replace their popular Solo, TeamSet and Q2Pro intercom systems, therefore updated looks and increased performance were only natural with the Q1 and Q3. The design has been updated with sleeker lines and better ergonomics, while battery life is said to have also become longer.

The Q1 TeamSet now offers music sharing: both the rider and passenger can now listen to the same track playing from the smartphone or other compatible Bluetooth device. There's also built-in FM radio with RDS, voice activation, waterproof and dustproof housing and Cardo's proprietary "Click-to-Link" pairing feature for even more convenience.

The Scala Rider Q3 MultiSet takes things even further, as it offers connectivity for up to 4 riders on two different motorcycles or 3 riders on three separate bikes.

All systems come with either cord or boom-mounted mics, replaceable speakers and headphones, so if you prefer using your high-end in-ears, you're free to do so. The prices range between $219.95 (€169) for the single Q3 unit and $389.95 (€299) for the Q3 MultiSet, with the Q1 TeamSet retailing for $249.95 (€192).
