Celebrities in general and rappers, in particular,have a soft spot for the flashiest, most exclusive and expensive things, which almost invariably turns into a sort of frenzy of collecting luxury cars. They’re doing it without much discerning, so they’re not actually collectors but more like hoarders. But one is still excused for feeling the occasional pang of jealousy for the kind of stuff they can get.
Cardi B and Offset are no different.
In October this year, Cardi turned 28 and Offset gave her, among other things, a custom Rolls-Royce Cullinan estimated at $400,000. Hours ago, Cardi topped his gift, by giving him a very rare Lamborghini.
On the occasion of Offset’s 29th birthday (December 14), Cardi presented him with a bronze (presumed) Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster, one of only 63 ever made to celebrate the founding year of the storied carmaker. These babies sold out long before the official reveal at the 2019 Monterey Car Week, but that didn’t stop the rapper and budding actress from going out of her way to secure one - reportedly at well over $600,000.
Available below is a video of the moment when Offset first set his eyes on his new car. Cardi walked him outside their home and, in the company of what looks like a very large group of friends, showed him the surprise present. Needless to say, he loved it.
Dubbed by Lamborghini “an even rarer beast” than the SVJ Roadster that was made in 800 units, the SVJ 63 Roadster was offered in 63 highly customizable units, each with a special livery featuring a no. 63 decal on the hood and doors. This limited-edition supercar is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 770 hp for a top speed of 217 mph (349 kph) and a 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) time of just 2.9 seconds.
