The California Ai Resources Board (CARB), has announced that they have approved a $27-million fund for its Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). If you haven’t heard of AQIP, it is, according to CARB chairman Mary D. Nichols a “unique incentive program (which) makes ultra-clean cars affordable for more Californians, helps slash smog-forming pollution and cuts greenhouse gas emissions."
However, the fund will be further supplemented by an additional $5-million, provided by the California Energy Commission. Of the $32-million total, $10-million will be used to fund the popularization of zero emission commercial vehicles and buses, with $2-million being used for the demonstration of some advanced technologies, to further inform the public on the matter, as the program has proved effective since its inception.

Apparently, since AQIP was first initiated, back in 2008, they have already put over 7,500 green cars on the roads of California, as well as over a thousand commercial vehicles and buses. We all know that California is a very green-minded state, and this funding boost will go a long way to assuring that they continue to fight for their cause.
