That was the experience of one man who happened to be sitting at a restaurant’s bar in Paramount, Los Angeles, last Saturday, KTLA reports. Surveillance video of the incident has been released to the media, but the specifics of the accident are still hazy as of the time of writing.

“Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to the restaurant on the 8100 block of East Rosecrans Avenue shortly before 9 p.m., authorities said,” the publication reports. “One man suffered unknown injuries, according to the Sheriff's Department.”

Based on the video, which is also available at the bottom of the page, the unspecified injuries were probably not serious. As you can see, right after he’s hit by the car, the man gets up and walks away from the wreckage, apparently fine – though, admittedly, it’s hard to tell even if he was hurt, because of the quality of the footage.

“The driver, whose condition is unknown, was not cited or arrested, according to the Sheriff's Department,” the same media outlet adds. The investigation is still ongoing and the driver could be charged at the end of it, depending on the findings.

A probable cause of the accident has not been discussed with the media.

A similar yet more serious accident occurred at the beginning of the month in Goiania, Brazil, when a patron was taken out by a loose tire coming from an out-of-control vehicle. Police released surveillance video just a few days ago, showing that the impact was so forceful that the poor victim, who had been drinking beer on the sidewalk with friends, was literally propelled out of the frame.

Making matters only worse, the poor dude was just recovering from another car accident one month prior. This one was his sixth in 2 years, reports said, a strange – and painful – statistic that earned him the reputation of luckiest man in the world.
