We had to see the Mythbusters try and break a piece of glass by using only sound to believe that sound is a powerful force of whatever you want. Had we known that a custom car builder has a much more interesting and funny approach to the theory, we would have learned that sooner.
For most of the high-profile wannabe gangstas, who roam the street in their own neighborhood without straying too much outside their own turf, tuning a car mostly means packing with mind blowing, hairdo undoer subwoofers and, in more recent days, screens.
For them, and only for them, we bring to your attention the creation of Steve Meade Designs, a Chevrolet Tahoe whose entrails have been stripped away and replaced with cubical sound generating machines from hell.
Four subwoofers, 18 inches across each, accompanied by an army of smaller Rockford Fosgate speakers, mids and tweeters have been squeezed into the otherwise large interior of the car, for the owner of the Tahoe, Meade himself, to enjoy.
Of course, pumping the volume on all that hardware to maximum might have caused some serious damage to Meade himself and to his shop. Since “it has been raining for two weeks straight” outside, and Meade himself is a bit bored, he decided to use a very graphic way to show the world the power of the Fosgate subwoofers.
And the power of four Fosgate subwoofers can, without a doubt, shred to pieces the rather sizeable phone book Meade holds in his hands.
