Canada To Adopt New Emission Standards - Toyota Gives Big Thumbs Up

Recently, the Canadian Environment Minister has announced that they intend to align their fuel emission standards with the Tier 3 ones in the United States.
The following air pollution regulations are expected to reduce the pollutant emissions by 80% compared to the current rules. And with that much restriction and people’s need for low priced fuel-economic vehicles need, guess who is the new rule’s number one fan? Yeah, you guessed, it’s Toyota, which will also launch  hybrid production at the Cambridge plant in Ontario next year.

"Toyota responds to the world's need for affordable fuel efficient and low emission vehicles through constant innovation in conventional and advanced technologies," said Seiji Ichii, President and CEO, Toyota Canada Inc. "We are proud to say that the launch of hybrid vehicle production at our plant in Cambridge, Ontario, next year will make Toyota the first manufacturer to build highly efficient gasoline, hybrid and electric vehicles in Canada."
