Can Such Helmet Damage Be Real?
After watching this picture for countless times and analyzing it the best we could, we're still having two opposing ideas here: some say that such helmet abrasion is possible, provided that some rather particular conditions and circumstances are present, while the others claim it's all just a hoax.
The guy who posted the picture added: "A friend of a friend got into a motorcycle accident at 70 mph and hit a bus. This is his helmet." Asking for your opinions and experience to solve this mystery, here are the arguments of both sides.

The guys who claim that a motorcycle helmet could end up like this say that this could technically happen if the helmet was somehow stuck while scrapping off against the asphalt.

Becoming lodged beneath the bike or kept in place by parts of either bus could lead to such a clean abrasion line, especially if the rider came off the bike before impacting the said bus. A frontal collision involving head contact with the incoming vehicle would have most likely damaged the helmet very badly and we might have had blood and pieces of the unfortunate rider's brain all over it.

On the other hand, thos claiming this is a well-planned hoax speak about the extremely precise and clean "cut" and say that it is almost impossible that in the development of a motorcycle crash, that helmet could remain in the same position until such extensive occurred.

Taking a quick look at the plethora of accident videos around the web, there are only few in which the rider's head remains in the same position relative to the ground.

In the absence of other concludent evidence, we're asking you: real or hoax?

Either way, this should send out a strong message in the nation, to all those who claim helmets are no good. Thanks Sorin for the tip.
