Can Lexus GS450H Passengers Keep Heart Rates Under 120 BPM?

Hybrids have been associated with sedate driving and economy ever since their conception, primarily because that was the reason for which they were conceived. However, after presenting the CT200h (which we tested a while back) as a sporty offering, Lexus strikes again, with their new 338 hp GS450h - a car they claim is much sportier than its rather bland predecessor.
They organized an event in which a professional driver took one passenger at a time and drove them in the GS450h, as fast as he dared, around a race track, and measured their heartbeats. We must admit that we weren’t expecting the results that we saw, but maybe, this is a genuinely sporty offering from the luxury Japanese manufacturer - a first, aside from the LFA. One woman recorded 195 bpm - it must have been really exciting for her!

If we were to judge it solely on this vaguely-scientific test, we would have to conclude that the new GS450h is a very sporty and exciting car. However, we won’t get to tell you for sure, until we get a chance to take it out for a test drive.
