And I recently stumbled upon something that is a jaw-dropper: a one-off project, built for MMA star Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone. This 2020 Can-Am Defender MAX 6x6 has been dubbed "Squatch", and it looks like it could fit in just fine in a "Starship Troopers" movie. The people over at S3 Power Sports worked closely in connection with BRP to deliver a custom build that would still look like it was created by the factory.
From the get-go, the idea was to build the largest OE Side-by-Side ever, a fitting approach considering the almost legendary status of its future owner. With this being a special project, it was kept secret throughout the build, and a lot of custom fabrication was required to achieve the result. This Defender 6x6 Max XMR now features an S3 Power Sports 8" suspension lift.
Rolling around the desert at night won't be too big of an issue, with the Baja Designs S1 headlight kit being complemented by the 40" OnX6 Lightbar. With so much work being put into this vehicle, a special paint job was required as well, and SJ solutions brought forth a mix of matte and gloss finish, with extra hand pinstriping applied to make this stand out of the crowd.
As you would expect with something this complex, the builders did mention that "a lot of sweat and tears" were also required, but at the end of the day I'm sure that there are a lot of Side-by-side enthusiasts that would just love to get their hands on a 6x6 like this one as well. After all, getting a Brabus 6x6 is far from being accessible for most people, and you do get an additional sense of ruggedness and coolness with this Can-Am build, aside from the obvious financial accessibility.
The goal from the beginning was to provide Donald with a vehicle as tough as him, that he could enjoy driving around his BMF ranch, feeding the buffalos, dragging sleds around, and performing any other ranch-specific activity that he could think of, and the result is nothing short of fascinating, even if you're not that into side-by-sides from the beginning.
