Campos to Confirm 2010 Lineup in November

While Manor Grand Prix are considering Nelson Piquet for their 2010 lineup, Campos Grand Prix today unveiled that negotiations are ongoing in terms of next year's lineup but an official announcement will only be made after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Team boss Adrian Campos admitted, however, that McLaren's Pedro de la Rosa is their main target for one of the racing spots.

He (De la Rosa) is our first choice. So it will be him or Marc Gene, but we have to wait and see what happens in the next two or three weeks about the drivers,” said Campos in an interview with British magazine Autosport.

Arguing his decision to wait for the end of the season until he'll make up his mind on the 2010 lineup, Campos admitted that money will become an important part of the equation when considering the two drives. Drivers attracting sponsorship money from different parts of the world is also something that has to be considered by Campos, as the team will be making their very debut in the Great Circle next year.

We want to have the drivers decided as soon as possible, but not before the middle of November. We have to put together the sponsors, the interest and the nationalities of the drivers. There are many things that we expect - to have the entry and then quickly sign the drivers.

But it is not easy because the nationalities of the drivers are very important regarding the repercussions in every country – for the sponsors and many things. There are many things that we have to take care of,” added Campos.

Both Campos and Manor F1 have joined the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) earlier this month, as part of their integrating process in the structures of F1. Neither of the two teams have, however, announced a single driver for next year, just like US Grand Prix Engineering or Team Lotus F1.
