Campos Committed to F1 Despite Budget Cap Scrap

Although the two-tier elements have been scrapped from the 2010 Formula One Championship and the budget cap along with it, Campos Grand Prix are determined to make the series' roster next year. The Spanish outfit believes they can still hold a chance in next year's championship even if they'll have to challenge teams benefiting from multi-million budgets.

When initially signing up for 2010 season, Campos committed to a maximum $45 million budget in Formula One. Now that the FIA-FOTA mess finally came to a finale – or at least we think it has – the regulations for next year are to suffer some important changes.

Nevertheless, as chassis manufacturer Dallara has recently announced, the team focused on the elements that will not be subject to change in 2010, like refueling ban and no KERS. As these were commonly viewed as sine-qua-non rules of the Formula One technical package, Dallara's policy proved to be the right path for 2010 car development.

Our car will be 2WD without the possibility to refuel and without KERS. We have worked on 2009 specification adding the extra fuel capacity required for 2010. We are continuing as if nothing had happened,” 72-year old Gian Paolo Dallara was quoted as saying by the GP Week.

Adrian Campos' team is not the only new entrant for the 2010 F1 championship not very worried about the regulation changes, as US F1 also announced the scrap of the $45 million budget cap will not influence their preparations for the next season. Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor have both committed to an F1 entry before the budget limitation was on FIA's table.

Manor Grand Prix, however, admitted the new rules have caused some difficulties in setting up a 2010 campaign in Formula One, but insisted they will not let go of their entry. One good news for the former F3 team is that Virgin Group are ready to partner the Bicester based outfit for next year.
