The 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 is one sexy piece of American muscle. Don’t confuse this with any old supercharged monster that’s only good in a straight line - it’s been honed to perfection on the Nurburgring track in Germany, where it set a blistering time of 7:41.27, faster than a Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce or an Audi R8 V10.
When the first examples left the factory in Oshawa, Canada, they did so with a V8, packing 580 hp and 556 lb-ft (754 Nm) of torque at the engine, making it the fastest factory-built Camaro ever.
But for some people that’s not enough! When Fastlane dynoed a stock ZL1, it put out 462 at the tires, which is decent. With a tune they got it all the way up to 493 rwhp. They installed a cold air system to improve the air to fuel mixture and will soon also fit sports cam shafts that stay open for longer.
