Calvin Klein's 1985 Porsche 911 for Sale

While digging through all the thousands upon thousands of ads on eBay (we are bending the facts a little here), we found a little gem of a car hidden among a sea of boring sedans. This 1985 Porsche 911 Cabriolet was originally owned by American Fashion Designer Calvin Klein and is now for sale.

This might not be a modern supercar with 22-inch wheels and a monstrous amount of power, but it’s clear that the designer had an eye for classy, understated transportation. Even though a quarter of a century has passed since it was made, the 85’ model is still in great shape and only has 59,000 miles (95,000 kilometers) on the clock.

The black paint still looks deep and shiny, while the interior is in excellent condition, the leather is supple, and shows few blemishes, according to Classic Car Gallery, the seller of the 911.

“The engine has obviously received great care over the years, as she runs and drives wonderfully, with good power and tractability. The engine compartment is well detailed, and the underside is fresh and rust free. She has a factory installed whale tail. The 5 speed transmission shifts well and the clutch operates as it should,” the seller brags.

Meanwhile, the Fuchs wheels are in good shape with no curb rash, and the TIRES have less than 1,000 miles (1,600 km) on them.

In a tribute to German engineering, the manual top mechanism still works well. The suspension has been beefed up using Turbo Tie Rods, while the brakes and all the mechanical systems work as they should.

With a bit over three days left to bid on the car, the best offer currently stands at $24,100 - not a lot, considering the history of this car.
