Husband and wife were involved in a domestic dispute, and it somehow ended with the husband being hit and dragged by the car driven by the wife. Police are investigating his death as a homicide.
43-year-old John Davidson died earlier this week, from the injuries he sustained after he was dragged by his wife’s pickup truck outside their home, in a residential community in Chowchilla, Fresno, California. Though considered a homicide, police are yet to make any arrests.

You know what they say: “the spouse did it.” Lieutenant Jeff Palmer from the Chowchilla Police Department tells ABC30 Action News that John and Amber Davidson were involved in a domestic dispute prior to the incident that killed him. Amber told the police that, during the fight, she got into the pickup truck and he started punching the door, presumably in an attempt to make her get out.

She tried to drive away and he latched onto the door, which means she dragged him a few feet with the car, before falling to the ground, she claimed.

The strange thing about the story is that Amber never called 911, even though she saw the condition her husband was in after she hit him with the car. In fact, she went and called a male friend who helped her get the husband in the backseat of the car, and then drove with him to another friend’s house. It was that friend who called the cops.

When police arrived, Davidson was still in the backseat, covered in blood and gravely injured. He died at the hospital. Lt. Palmer notes that the wife is cooperating with the investigation, but they are still to determine whether forensic evidence backs up her story.

“We were told that he fell backwards. And we have to look for the injuries to see are they consistent with a fall backwards or was there something more toward his facial area or falling forward?” Lt. Palmer explains.

“We do not know at this time with the dispute was about. We don't have any witnesses at this time who actually saw the incident occur,” he adds. None of the neighbors heard the couple fighting or anything of the moment when she ran him over.
