Lucio Cecchinello's Team LCR Honda announces having reached an agreement with their current top rider Cal Crutchlow. Crutchlow will be at the helm of a factory-supported RC213V motorcycle in 2016, with a further option to do so in 2017, as well.
Crutchlow finished the 2014 championship in the 13th position, but it looks like this was more of a boost for his career. In 2014, Crutchlow rode a factory Ducati and earned 74 points before opting to put an end to the contract he had with Borgo Panigale over the disappointing performance of the bike-rider combo.

What is funny in a way is that, in 2015, after 11 rounds, Crutchlow already has 74 points and sits 9th in the world standings, 7 points down from Yamaha satellite rider Pol Espargaro and with an 11-point lead over Pramac's Danilo Petrucci.

Team boss Lucio Cecchinello is more than happy to see Crutchlow in LCR livery in 2016: ”I am happy to announce the extension of our cooperation with Cal, who is one of the most talented riders in the whole MotoGP field. He has got the skills and the potential to battle with the top riders and fight for the podium spots, as he demonstrated in Argentina earlier this season. Cal is extremely professional and during the season we have built up a great rapport. it's a pleasure to be working with Cal again in 2016 and I look forward to the years to come."

At he same time, Crutchlow seems more confident in what the future may bring, especially as LCR found another title sponsor: "I am very happy to continue my relationship with LCR for 2016 and 2017. Lucio has a fantastic team and I look forward to growing further with them and with Honda. We started the season well and I believe we can score some great results in the rest of this year and in the season to come."

Givi is the new title sponsor for Crutchlow's LCR Honda, at least for the British GP

Crutchlow's Honda will receive a new livery for Silverstone this weekend, as Lucio Cecchinello says that Givi will take the title sponsor position on the Honda RC213V. Givi is a long-standing partner fo LCR and the move was a natural one, especially as CWM, the former sponsor of the team, is passing through a rough time.

The company owner is being investigated for financial fraud, and no info as to whether CWM will continue to be involved in MotoGP surfaced at the time of writing. In case CWM will call it quits, we can only hope that Givi will step in and carry on with LCR.
