“You can’t arrest me, I’m the cake boss!” reality TV star Buddy Valastro reportedly told the officers about a month ago when they stopped him in Manhattan. He even suggested they should rather put him in a cab than taking him into custody. Now the Cake Boss star changed his mind, as he pleaded guilty on Monday for driving under the influence.
Well, people change their minds, what’s the problem with that, right? Wrong.

The 37-year old chef and restaurant owner was driving his yellow 2014 Corvette through traffic in Manhattan, when cops saw the car swerving around and pulled him over. A court complaint said his blood-alcohol level was slightly above the legal limit even though he failed the field sobriety tests.

The reality star shared a statement with his fans telling them things will be explained, but that he’d prefer to “handle things privately as a family” for the moment. Well, now they know how things turned up. His driver license got suspended for three months, he’ll be taking a drinking-and-driving class and is also paying a $300 fine.

Even though people rather know him as the star of the reality television series Cake Boss, which aires on CBC, Valastro is also a quite successful business man. Buddy is the owner and head baker of Carlo’s Bakery - the bakery also featured on Cake Boss. Carlo’s has since opened 7 more bakeries due to the popularity of the show, their delicious baked goods and their beautiful wedding & specialty cakes.

In other words, it’s no wonder the man likes to keep things as clear as possible in front of his fans, considering bad publicity could affect his business.
