Milanese manufacturer CR&S (Cafe Racing and Sport) is among the companies that have created special products that celebrate 150 years since the unification of Italy. To mark the occasion, the company presented the VUN Tricolore motorcycle that you can admire in the adjacent images.

According to CR&S, the VUN (which means ‘one’ in Milanese dialect and for single cylinder, single seater) has come to be known in Italy and the world as being synonymous with creativity and elegance in motorcycle building.

For this special occasion, the VUN has been decked in a tri-color livery, inspired by the design of the green, white and red diamonds of the flag of the First Italian Republic (1802-1805) which maintained the territory of the Cisalpine Republic and included Lombardy (without the Oltrepo Pavese), Emilia (without Parma and Piacenza), Romagna, the province of Novarese and part of the Veneto bounded by the Adige River.

With the VUN, CR&S brags a new category is born: “THE MISTOSTRETTO” (in the jargon of Italian bikers, this term is used to describe a winding road with a continuous sequence of bends and ups and downs.)

The bike can be admired in Turin (Italy) until November 20, 2011, as part of the The Future’s in the Hands. Tomorrow’s Artisans exhibition, part of the “Esperienza Italia” event. The Milanese motorcycle maker was chosen to represent “the excellence of Italian craftsmanship”.

The company currently works on making a similar model, also decked in the flag, this time based on the VUN’s elder sibling, the DUU (which means “two” in Milanese dialect - bike also comes in a two-seat version).
