We’ve almost been too busy reporting from the Geneva Motor Show the past days to get to tell you guys about Cadillac’s little stunt it did the other day on Twitter. Turns out trolling is possible between the big players in the industry since this is exactly what GM’s luxury branch did the moment they had their new CTS-V posing in front of its European competitors.
The CTS-V comes in three body styles, all of which feature a pushrod OHV V8 engine and a sport-tuned suspension. The 4-door sedan was introduced in 2004, while the sport wagon and coupe in 2010 and 2011 model year respectively. Cadillac’s high-performance mid-size luxury car is basically competing with Audi’s RS6, BMW M5 and Mercedes’ E63 AMG.

As we all know, Cadillac is not as popular on the old continent, as it is in the US, hence the marketing team figured some good, old trolling would do the job just fine. Cadillac’s European arm simply took its latest 640-horsepower sedan on a road trip taking pictures in front of each of the three head quarters. Funny, right?

First in line was BMW’s M home in Munich, Audi quattro head quarters in Neckarsulm while Mercedes AMG’s plant in Stuttgart was the last stop before heading to Geneva.

Now, if we are to be fully honest then we should admit this is far from being the first stunt carmakers pull each other with. One of our favorites is Nissan’s tweet when the Japanese trolled Ferrari, posting a Nyan Cat GT-R rendering on their social network account.

It was referring to Canadian DJ Deadmau5’ famous Ferrari 458 that used to be wrapped in a Nyan Cat theme, a cover he was forced to take of by the Italian car maker after they sent a cease and desist letter claiming they will not accept the fact that the Prancing Horse logos had been replaced with Purrari feline badges.
