Last fall was a sad time for performance SUV fans, since that's when we came across a report talking about the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 not getting "V" go-fast versions. However, the Internet won't have this, which is how we ended up with the 2021 Cadillac XT6-V rendering sitting behind the screen.
The XT6 is a mid-sized crossover that offers three rows of seats, but find itself below the Escalade. Sharing a FWD-based platform (AWD is available as an option) with its smaller brother, the XT5, the XT6 is limited by this configuration. In fact, this is the main argument against a V8 go-fast monster like the one seen in the pixel portrait we have here.

In fact, you can only have the crossover with a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6, while the vehicle gets a four-pot over in China. Of course, the limited torque offered by these motors doesn't just affect the performance side of the driving experience, but also the premium feel, since the nine-speed auto tranny can only do so much on its own.

Nevertheless, C_ZR1, the label that brought us this rendering, has serious ambitions for the envisioned XT6-V. For one, the engine compartment of the virtual ride now accommodates the LT5 motor found on the Corvette ZR1. We're talking about a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 placing 755 hp and 715 lb-ft at the mercy of the driver's right foot.

Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes provide the matching stopping power, even though making this hardware a standard feature might not be a wise choice, due to the costs and operation noise associated with such stopping devices.

In fact, if you use the swipe feature of the Instagram post below, which portrays the four-wheeled creation, you'll even notice the velocity numbers associated with this dream. Meanwhile, the version of the XT6 that can be actually found in showrooms has received mixed reviews.
