Cadillac SRX, CTS Sport Wagon and BLS4 Ready for Geneva

General Motors has just announced that the Geneva Motor Show will witness the European debut of the new Cadillac SRX, the official launch of Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon as well as the introduction of several other models, including Cadillac CST-V, BLS4 and Escalade Hybrid.

The Cadillac SRX marks Cadillac's first use of the 3.0-liter V6 engine unit that develops 193 kW (262 hp), parent company General Motors said in a public statement. The interiors sport a wide range of features, such as internal hard drive, pop-up navigation screen, turn-adaptable headlights and auto-leveling suspension. An all-wheel drive system is available as standard, as well as electronically regulated limited-slip rear differential (eLSD) for directing up to 100 percent of engine torque to the wheel with the highest traction.

“The all-new SRX represents the next generation of innovative, dynamic crossovers for customers of luxury vehicles. New technologies offer better drivetrain efficiency and safety, while the design expresses power and dynamics. In this version, the new SRX connects with customers of premium cars emotionally as well as rationally.
Simply put, this crossover is for people who value performance and utility,” Mark McNabb, North America vice president, Cadillac/Premium Channel, said.

The CTS Sport Wagon will arrive in Europe later this year and is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 unit that generates as much as 229kW (311 hp). There are two transmission systems available, a six-speed manual and an automatic variant, both of them especially aimed at fuel economy and CO2 emissions.

Marketed under the “High-tech and high performance in a family car” slogan, the Cadillac CTS-V boasts a supercharged  6.2-liter V8 engine that produces a maximum power of 564 hp (415 kW) and 747 Nm of torque. The car comes with a choice of two transmission systems, six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. European deliveries are expected to start in the near future.

The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is the “first implementation worldwide of the fuel-saving Two-Mode Hybrid System in a full-size SUV,” as GM said, with this model massively reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. General Motors says fuel efficiency is boosted by up to 40 percent in city driving, without neglecting the most important features belonging to a SUV. The hybrid has permanent all-wheel drive.

Last but not least, the Cadillac BLS4 and Cadillac BLS4 Wagon come with permanent all-wheel drive and offer a choice of three gasoline engines with turbo charging, two turbo diesels and one Bio-ethanol variant.
