Cadillac has announced plans to develop more high performance VSport versions besides the XTS and the CTS models that will become available for the 2014 model year.
Speaking to The Detroit News, Cadillac product director Hampden Tener said the company is looking to expand its VSport lineup, but declined to mention which models will get the “V” badge on its boot. We bet it will be the ATS...
“In the future you can look to us to expand this idea to additional models, additional vehicle models, and also using the branding for performance or sport appearance-related options and accessories,” Tener said, adding that Cadillac expect the 2014 XTS VSport sedan to represent up to 15 percent of total XTS sales.
As a reminder, the 2014 XTS VSport and CTS VSport are powered by Cadillac’s new twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine. In the XTS, the mill delivers 410 HP and 369 lb-ft of torque via a six-speed transmission, while the CTS VSport will arrive in dealerships with 420 HP and 430 lb-ft of torque via an eight-speed automatic.
