Fitted with front LED lights that are designed to double as daytime running lights, the luxurious Cadillac ELR will reportedly use less energy than automobiles equipped with traditional halogen lights.

“LED lights last much longer and use less energy than traditional halogen bulbs used in most vehicles,” said Martin Davis, exterior lead designer at Cadillac. “Beyond the beautiful design interpretation, using LED lights fits with the ELR’s environmentally friendly character.”

Unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the 2014 Cadillac ELR will enter production this fall. The ELR will be powered by the same drivetrain as the Chevrolet Volt.
