To be honest, we haven't even seen that many good test drive reviews of the new Cadillac ELR. Despite being the most revolutionary car GM has built in years, the electric vehicle remains a reclusive and little-know coupe. This next walkaround video will change all that, with 25 minutes of viewing time giving a real-world impression.
Saabkyle04's video answers a lot of question as to why the ELR costs twice as much as the car it's based on and what makes it tick. Remember, the a the Cadillac EV starts is priced from $75,000 to $82,100, while the Chevy Volt is just $34,185.
So what's new about it? Well, pretty much everything you touch. Want an interior with both carbon fiber and wood trim? That's possible. A button to open the door from inside? That too, plus a special theme song when you put the ignition on, just like when you start your computer.
Cosmetically, there's eye candy every where you look: flush upper fascia grille panels, jeweled taillights that look like 60s Cadillac fins, LEd headlights, 20-inch polished wheels and so much more. Technology is also available in spades: Bosse active noise cancelation, CUE infotainment system and a second, third and fourth set of electronic eyes in the back of the head to keep you safe.
