Word has it the 2015 Cadillac ATS-V will be motivated by a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 425 horsepower. The same report, which comes from Motor Trend, states that Cadillac is also working on a more powerful version of the ATS-V (reportedly dubbed ATS-V+), that will come with a V8 mill under the hood.
The latter could arrive as soon as 2017 and the V8 engine might be the same supercharged LT4 fitted in the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. GM claims the unit will produce “at least” 625 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque, with the final figures to be revealed by the end of the year.
Additionally, our source says that the Cadillac CTS-V won’t be fitted with the supercharged LT4, but that the sedan will get a twin-turbo version of the 2014 Corvette’s LT1 V8 powerplant.
There’s no actual info on when the aforementioned vehicles will be unveiled, but Cadillac just revealed the brand new 2015 ATS Coupe in Detroit earlier this week.
