Who has the best Cabrio concept? That's what the guys from Auto Motor und Sport asked themselves as did the world when the 4 Series Convertible was launched, especially since BMW's German competitors already had their guns out.
Those guns are the Audi A5 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class for now, until the C-Class Cabrio comes out. Out of the 3, the E-Class will, most likely, be the priciest, because it's supposed to be included in a different segment.
As for the engines, the A5 has 3 engine choices, going from 170 HP to 272 HP, still below the BMW line-up that will be comprised of engine from 184 HP to 306 HP, whilst the E-Class has a wider range that includes even V8 units.
However, in the end, when it comes to convertibles, looks matter the most and, we think, the 4 Series wins this category. Furthermore, the Bimmer has a hardtop whilst the other two are soft-tops, even the higher-ranking and more expensive Merc.
Bottom line, the 4 Series is equal, if not better than its rivals, both in looks and in performance, bringing the best of two worlds together. In our books, the 4er is already a winner.
