Lamborghini is the go-to automaker for aurally and visually loud supercars. In addition to mid-engine land missiles with Ferrari-rivaling performance, the House of the Raging Bull also knows a thing or two about paint.
When it comes to green options, the Huracan can be had in solid Verde Scandal and three pearl finishes in the guise of Verde Mantis, Verde Selvans, and Verde Ithaca. Care to guess how the C8 Corvette would look like with this type of paintwork? Owner Brady Johnson is much obliged to show you his car.
Painted – not wrapped – in a lovely shade of green called PPG Spitfire Green, his Stingray Z51 certainly looks different from other Gen 8s. When asked by a fellow C8 Corvette Facebook member about how much this paint job had cost, Brady said that he owns a paint shop and only the materials can be considered expenses. “Retail on this would be around 10 to 12 grand.”
The car still hasn’t got the driver’s door, frunk, and front bumper painted but Brady believes it won’t be long before everything goes back together to create what he describes as “my lil’ wannabe Huracan.” Both cool and adequately striking for a mid-engine sports car, this one-of-a-kind C8 also happens to feature a cat-back exhaust as you can tell from the idling sound.
Pre-production #770 here features the factory exhaust manifolds and cats, a true dual setup with two mufflers. Also gifted with a green-painted engine cover and Driveshaft Shop upgraded axles, the C8 is wearing 19-/9.5-inch and 18-/11-inch wheels from MRR painted in black. And they sure look sweet!
On that note, have you heard that Bowling Green is going back to building the C8 Corvette next week? The convertible is also due to enter production on July 13th, and the 2020 model year will run through the end of October.
As for the 2021 model year that will start production on November 2nd, not much will change as far as the Stingray is concerned. The Order Workbench reveals that the FE2 suspension is a standalone option that doesn’t require the Z51 Performance Package to be specified. The exterior color palette will welcome Crystal Red Metallic and Red Mist Tincoat paint options, and there are a few more newities in store as we’ve reported in a previous story.
