The C8 Corvette order guide is now online, and the Stingray is codenamed 1YC07. Following the grand reveal in California and the confirmation of a right-hand-drive version for the UK and Australia, the mid-engine sports car’s dimensions and most general of specifications are no longer a secret.
Let’s start with dry weight. At 3,366 pounds (1,527 kilograms) before options, the C8 is heavier than the seventh generation but not by much. More to the point, equipping the C7 with the eight-speed automatic would tip the scales in favor of the eighth generation. The cargo volume is rated at 12.6 cubic feet (356.8 liters) while the fuel tank can be filled up with 18.5 gallons (70 liters) of gasoline.

Overall length without the Z51 Performance Package is 182.3 inches, which works out at 4,630 millimeters in European currency. The wheelbase stretches over 107.2 inches or 2,723 millimeters, and the order guide also contains information in regard to the Corvette’s legroom, hip room, shoulder room, and headroom.

The Z51 Performance Package – identified by RPO code Z51 – is a must for every owner. The list of improvements includes bigger brakes, better suspension, an active-valve exhaust system, go-faster ratio for the rear axle, an electronic limited-slip differential, rear spoiler, front splitter, 245/35 ZR19 and 305/30 ZR20 tires, and the heavy-duty cooling system.

Pricing details have yet to be announced, but Chevrolet did mention a sub-$60,000 sticker for the bare-bones C8 Corvette Stingray. Forum enthusiasts suggest August 15th to be the day when the manufacturer’s suggested retail price will be announced, and we’re expecting the eighth generation to cost $59,000 and change.

The explanation for our guesstimate is simple. The C7 Corvette Stingray LT1 starts at $56,995 with the manual transmission, excluding destination charge. An auto-equipped example of the breed is $58,990, and as we all know, a dual-clutch transmission such as the one in the C8 is a bit more expensive.

A soft-top convertible is also coming for the 2020 model year, but no details are available about it for the time being. We do have a few pictures, though…
