There’s no denying the C8 Corvette is the smartest, most tech-savvy of them all. The digital instrument cluster and high-resolution infotainment system are the highlights, and Chevy Dude took the time to go through them in a 10-minute video of a pre-production model.
The mid-engined Corvette ships as standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen display mounted to the right of the instrument cluster. There’s no denying General Motors went forward with the driver-oriented cockpit to underline the mid-engined driving dynamics of the C8, and if you go through the specifications of the Stingray, we’re not really surprised.

Turning our focus back on the infotainment, customers and enthusiasts alike will be happy to hear that the volume and home buttons are physical. The menu and icons are nothing to write home about, and neither is the G-force meter in the instrument cluster. What comes as useful is the Performance Data Recorder, accessible from both the infotainment system and instrument cluster. The PDR can also be configured to your heart’s content, and if you were wondering, the option costs $1,795 in the case of the Stingray 1LT.

Another change from the C7 is the Z Mode button on the steering wheel, painted in silver to bring the point home. The Z icon illuminates when the driving mode is activated, and if you were wondering, Z is a setting that combines the best of Sport and Track driving. A fair degree of customization is available for the drivetrain, steering, suspension, braking system, and exhaust. As if that wasn’t enough, the C8 also features MyMode.

Tech-savvy customers are further treated to lots of cameras, including a front-facing camera as if the C8 is capable of tackling a rocky trail with the same aplomb as the Jeep Wrangler. The digital rearview mirror is something else worth mentioning, but it’s not groundbreaking by any means if you’re accustomed to the likes of the Cadillac XT4 and CT6.
