C8 Corvette Gets Lambo Doors Upgrade, Kit Costs $3,000

After finding out that the 2020 Corvette will re-enter production on May 25th, the aftermarket is much obliged to come up with another mod for the mid-engine supercar. EIKON Motorsports of Scottsdale, Arizona is currently selling scissor doors for the C8 for the princely sum of $2,999 with a lifetime warranty.

The upgrade’s description reads “$2,899 for the kit by itself and a total price of $4,300 with installation,” and the Lambo doors are actually manufactured by Vertical Doors. The American company utilizes carbon steel and heat-treated pivot and strike points, but curiously, the C8 upgrade isn’t listed on their website.

Turning our attention back to EIKON Motorsports, owners of the mid-engine Corvette are treated to all of the mounting hardware and two gas shocks. The tuner claims that the kit is a bolt-on affair that utilizes the stock door’s bolt pattern, and better still, it’s reversible for when you had enough of it.

No car has been completed to date with the said upgrade but EIKON Motorsports did render the C8 Corvette with Lambo doors. An example of the rather rarefied breed in terms of production numbers is currently undergoing the conversion to scissor doors. Titled “The Creation Stage 1,” the following clip shows a white car without the driver’s door, front fenders, the front fascia, and rear bumper.

“Progress is coming along smoothly” according to the Arizona-based shop, and given the public’s fascination for scissor doors, this Stingray Z51 won’t be the only one to receive this upgrade. “We are looking at about 3 weeks or a little less until the completed kit is done being,” said EIKON Motorsports on Facebook.

And now, here’s a question for you. Do scissor doors void the manufacturer’s warranty? Considering that this sort of upgrade implies mods to the original structure of the vehicle, it will likely void the coverage for electrical and body problems. In the best-case scenario, the powertrain warranty should remain intact.

EIKON Motorsports takes pride in having served more than 1,445 customers by lifting more than 3,960 doors in no fewer than three countries over the course of 14 years and counting.
