In spite of all the aspects that set the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye apart, the idea of a drag race between the two simply sounds natural. Well, this is precisely what we're here to discuss.
In theory, the winner is clear, especially if we're talking about the standing quarter mile. Sure, the Mopar machine is unfriendly to the scales, but its 797 ponies and its eight-speed auto mean it can play the 1,320 feet game in 10.8 seconds.

As for the 'Vette, a 495 horsepower Z51 example, such as the one we have here, is able to complete the 1/4-mile task in the low 11s range.

However, as we've learned since the 2015 model year, when the "standard" Hellcat was introduced, convincing the factory-blown Challenger to find traction on the street can be quite tricky.

Of course, the Widebody nature of this Redeye means it comes with fatter rear tires, which should bring a serious advantage for the takeoff phase of the race.

Speaking of which, the owner of this Mopar machine decided to install a set of drag radials, all in the effort of putting that supercharged muscle to the road. As such, the rear axle has been gifted with Mickey Thompson Street SS rubber, coming in 305/35 R20 size.

The only other non-stock aspect of this Dodge comes from the mid-muffler delete, which is there for the obvious aural reasons. As for the 'Vette, the Chevy came to the battle in stock form.

Now, while this dig race battle took place on the street, please don't use this as an example - heading over to the track will not only help with traction thanks to the prepped surface, but will also keep things on the safe side.

The two slabs of America engaged in three separate races and while the first one saw the Hellcat taking off after the Corvette, these issues were left behind for the other two velocity fights.
