C8 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible Rendered, Looks Sharp

Remember the times when we were all expecting the C8 Corvette, wondering how the first production mid-engined 'Vette would look like? Even with the expectations sitting high, GM managed to sweep us all off our feet thanks to the sub-$60k starting price of the C8 Stingray. And the carmaker continues to keep us on our toes, now that the C8.R racecar and the 2020 Corvette Convertible have been introduced.
Both derivatives mentioned above have something that draws attention past the badges they wear. For one thing, the soundtrack of the C8.R has us wondering if GM engineers have skipped the cross-pane crankshaft of the road car, going for a flat-plane crank instead, which would favor performance over smoothness.

As for the open-top incarnation of the Chevy, one wouldn't have expected this to match top-tier supercar in terms of weight savings (given the pricing of the 'Vette), but the open-air model is just 80 lbs less scale-friendly than the fixed-roof model, which is mighty impressive.

So, what's next? Well, we can assume that the automotive producer will maintain the existing nomenclature, which means we should get to enjoy go-faster monsters such as the Grand Sport, the Z06 and the ZR1.

And we have to keep in mind that all of the above are expected to land in both Coupe and Convertible flavor.

Well, the rendering sitting before us portrays the future C8 Corvette ZR1 Convertible. However, given the said launches, the pixel play integrates multiple aspects of the C8.R, as if is was portrayin a road-going incarnation of the motorsport toy (such a derivative isn't impossible), albeit in Convertible form.

PS: That's right, you keen-eyed car lovers, the exhaust layout featured in the rendering is different to that of the C8.R, with certain aficionados viewing this as an improvement rather than a simple change.
