Unveiled back in May, the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class T-Modell S205 (Estate or Wagon for those outside Germany) brings quite a lot of improvements compared with its predecessors, but the most visible ones are obviously its larger size and prettier design.
Packed with comfort and safety features that range from a color head-up display system to a gadgety touchpad or Distronic Plus with Stop & Go capabilities, the new station wagon variant of the C-Class won't reach dealerships until September, but Mercedes-Benz will open the ordering books on June 30.
In the beginning, the engine lineup will only consist of five powerplants, two of which being diesels and three running on gasoline.
The cheapest model will consist of the C 180 variant, which is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 156 hp and a starting price of EUR 35.224 with VAT included in Germany.
Next in line is the C 200, powered by a two-liter turbocharged four-pot with 184 hp, with a starting price of EUR 38.080 in Germany. The most powerful gasoline engine for now will be found in the C 250 model, which comes with a two-liter four-cylinder that outputs 211 hp and starts at EUR 42.602 in Germany.
On the diesel front, the entry level model will first consist of the C 220 BlueTec, which comes with the tried and true 2.1-liter turbodiesel that offers 170 hp, with pricing starting at EUR 40.341, while the top of the range will be the sequentially-turbocharged C 250 BlueTec with 204 hp starting at EUR 45.696.
Except the C 250 and C 250 BlueTec, which come in standard with the 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission, all models will come with a six-speed manual transmission and a choice of three equipment lines – Avantgarde, Exclusive and AMG Line.
