The upcoming AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 has some pretty big shoes to fill, as the current C 63 AMG W204 is sporting what is arguably one of the most-loved European V8 engines in recent years.
Most of its secrets have already been revealed, but its launch date was largely unknown, with most reports suggesting that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG W205 will be unveiled in October, at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
The usually-very-wrong Greg Kable from Autocar is suggesting that the model will actually be unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, at the end of November.
As you know, the naturally-aspirated M156 engine is now living its final months of production in the C 63 AMG W204, with a newly-developed, twin-turbocharged V8 to take its place in the new model. Preliminary reports are suggesting that in the C-Class it may offer at least 475 hp in the “regular” model, while the S-Model version should surpass 500 hp.
