Button Yet to Meet Hamilton as McLaren Teammate

Although Jenson Button has been revealed as Lewis Hamilton's new teammate at McLaren Mercedes in over a month now, the two haven't actually met each other at Woking. Although this was supposed to be Great Britain's “dream team” in the Formula One championship, the relationship between the two “big guns” is yet to start off.

When asked about how he gets along with his new teammate – considering he had a very good relationship with his former colleague Heikki Kovalainen – Hamilton admitted that he hasn't crossed paths with Button since his team appointed the reigning world champion as their official 2010 driver. And the situation will remain the same until later this month, when McLaren has scheduled their car launch event at Woking.

Our paths haven't really crossed since he was announced at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes back in November. We've both been to MTC (Woking) for our seat fittings –- but they were on different days. The first time we'll start working together is later this month, when we'll both be at Woking together, then we'll have the launch and the first test,” said Ham, in a team statement earlier today.

Talking about their first test with the McLaren MP4-25, Hamilton and Button are scheduled to share testing days during the Valencia outing, which is scheduled for February 1-3. It seems the new car will be ready by that date, as confirmed by the very reigning F1 champion. Button revealed that he can't wait to get behind the wheel of the new car one month from now.

I really cannot wait to get out to Valencia and get my first run in the MP4-25. (...) We'll be sharing the pre-season testing equally, and it will be important to keep a crossover of information between us to make sure we are both pulling in the right direction,” added Button, regarding his working relationship with his new teammate.
