Button Wants to Score Wins Not Just Points

The British F1 driver is even more set on claiming victories than before. His current winning record suffered lately as he clearly has the car capable of achieving exactly that.

The Brit doesn't want to win an F1 world champion title by mathematic calculations and strategically earned points. He wants victories and is determined to fight for them.

"We've got to start getting back to being competitive. All I need to do is finish fourth or fifth, but that's not what I want to do. I want to win races," were the Brit's words.

"It's what I'm here to do and it's what I love doing, competing at the front. So I'm going to be aggressive. I'm not going to suddenly back off after qualifying and take it easy in the races because if I'm in fifth I still want to do well, I still want to win races and I still want to be competitive, and that's exactly what will hopefully happen in Monza," he continued.

Despite his unsatisfactory performance, Button remains positive about his title chances and looks forward to the remaning races. We certainly welcome this attitude and hope to see the Briton perform strong in the upcoming races, worthy of a Formula One champion.

"I'm positive and excited about the challenge of the next few races. I'm not frustrated or negative. We've a little bit of work to do to make sure the car works over the kerbs in Monza, but it's a circuit that should be reasonably good for our car," added Jenson.

"I think we will see the Red Bulls going shorter in Monza, but I don't think they will be the main rivals there, it's going to be more the McLarens and the Force Indias because they are good on low downforce. Kimi will also be quick, and I don't know who is going to be in the other Ferrari," concluded Button.
