Button Wants to End Career at McLaren

After advising his teammate Lewis Hamilton not to leave the McLaren stable in the future, 2009 world champion Jenson Button told the media that he can't envision himself driving for any other team than the one he is currently employed with.

Having joined the Woking based organization at the end of 2009, the year of his first and only title to date in F1, Button initially signed a 3-year deal with McLaren. Asked about whether he plans to retire from McLaren when his contract expires or seek for an extension, the 31-year old insisted he has no such plans (retirement that is) and that he can't imagine how his F1 life would be driving for some other team.

I've a few years that I still want to race in F1,” said Button, according to crash.net, citing the Reuters news agency. “I'm sure it will come to a point with me where I'll think, 'right, I don't want to do anymore, I want to do something else' – [but] that point isn't yet, and I can't even imagine it happening yet. I'll be here for a couple more years.”

I can't imagine going somewhere else in F1 after McLaren – I'm really happy here – [although] when I was younger, at the start of my years in F1, I never thought I'd drive for McLaren.”

Part of Great Britain's “dream team” - as McLaren has been nicknamed by many before the 2010 F1 campaign - Button praised his squad's spirit and teamwork, which makes him feel like he's a part of something.

They really involve you in everything they do. For me, that is great. I love being involved in what is happening within a team. It's important to me that I'm not just doing the driving,” he added.
