Button: "I Won't Get Married This Year!"

With Jenson Button already securing his maiden Formula One title in career, there were only a few questions that remained unanswered during the season finale at Abu Dhabi - whether the 30-year old Brit will continue with Brawn GP from 2010 onwards or if he'll get married at the end of this year.

Earlier this year – back in June – Button's Japanese-Argentinean model girlfriend Jessica Michibata told the tabloids that “if Jenson wins the title in November we will celebrate a lot and it will be by him getting down on one knee.”

In addition, some of Button's friends in the F1 paddock – including title rival in 2009 Sebastian Vettel – started teasing the Brawn GP driver over his projected marriage with Michibata. Australian Mark Webber jokingly told the reporters at the Yas Marina Circuit that he has already received an invitation to Button's wedding, although he didn't disclose the date.

Right before the podium finishers entered the media conference room following the Sunday race, Vettel also joked about the alleged wedding, telling the Brawn GP driver that “he had heard a rumor on the notorious F1 grapevine about his plans for a wedding,” as noted by the GMM news agency.

He was immediately answered by a red-faced Button, who suggested to Vettel that he may want to keep things out of the media's reach for the time being. “You know, they write great things in the press. Thank you for that one Seb!” said the Brit.

However, he insisted that he doesn't want to talk about this topic for the time being. Asked by the reporters if the rumors are true, Button made it very clear that he doesn't want his personal life to be a tabloid topic.

“I'm not getting married this year. I think some things need to be kept private in your life and that's one of them. Thank you very much,” said Button.
